Men's Ministry - The
purpose of Men's Ministry is to encourage and hold accountable one
another as we do what Christian men are called to do: grow in the
Word and knowledge of God; and to honor, support and serve our
church, pastors, families, wives, children and fellow Christians.
Important activities in this regard are: 1. The formation and
functioning of Men's Small Groups to study God's Word, pray and hold
one another accountable to our promises and integrity as Christian
men (as outlined in the Promise Keepers' book Brothers!) 2. To
encourage the men of St. Peter to serve as Elders, officers and
servants of our church, not only to serve Christ, but to act as an
example to our families and to our other church members. 3. To
coordinate men attending Promise Keeper and other church related
events and gatherings. 4. To sponsor events to honor our pastors,
wives and families. Another exciting development is our
involvement with the Lutheran Men's Ministry Initiative (LMMI), a
new ministry for men in the Northern Illinois District of the
Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. |
